We Are Ready
We, the undersigned, promise to fight the racist and sexist attacks against Vice Presidential Nominee Kamala Harris and support the #BidenHarris ticket on November 3rd.
We, the undersigned, are elated that Joe Biden has selected Senator Kamala Harris as his Vice-Presidential running mate. Excited! Thrilled!
Senator Kamala Harris’ extraordinary experience assures she’ll be a powerful and effective partner to President Biden on day one, helping him build this country back better. Kamala Harris is tenacious, a truth-teller and willing to stand up for what is right.
Throughout her career Kamala Harris has worked to protect children, students, working families and those affected by racial inequities in our country. She has built a foundation of accomplishment to protect those most vulnerable in our society – a foundation our country needs rebuilt. Senator Harris has fought for legislation to give sweeping tax cuts for the middle class, address the high cost of rent, raise the minimum wage, support affordable higher education, reform the bail system, protect the legal rights of refugees and immigrants, protect LGBTQ rights, and so much more. As the first Black woman elected California’s Attorney General, she fought the big banks, protected women and children against abuse, fought for same-sex marriage, and prosecuted gun smugglers and human traffickers.
Senator Harris is not afraid of the right fight. She has been a key voice holding the Trump administration accountable, asking the tough questions on behalf of the American people. And she does it with purpose and a passion for the strength of the American people.
As the first Black and AAPI woman VP candidate on a national ticket, Senator Harris is also a key part of the plan to win in November. Women voters will significantly decide this election, as they did in 2018 when they swept in a historic number of women into Congress. And we know that American women and men will be excited to vote for her and Joe Biden. We cannot wait to see them sworn in as President and Vice President.
But we already know what to expect in a campaign against the misogynist-in-chief — and we are ready for it.
Senator Harris will continue to face stories, narratives, descriptions, and criticisms that don’t get attached to men. These racist and sexist views contribute to the systemic imbalance of women and people of color at the top levels of government. For too long women seeking elected office have been subjected to insidious campaigns to undermine their leadership. These negative stereotypes exist to keep women and people of color in our place.
Well, our place is in the White House. And our ambition to lead and make this country better is a strength and never a weakness.
As Kamala says, “Any fight – any good fight – is born out of optimism.”
The challenges facing this country and her people cannot be solved without defeating Donald Trump. From a deadly pandemic to a struggling economy, systemic racism and an administration that lacks the competence to solve these incredible problems, the need for experienced leaders with integrity, character and empathy has never been more important and more clear. We need a team that will wake up every day committed to improving the lives of all Americans, and we know that Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are just that team. The best team to lead the most important election of our lifetime.
So, as this Presidential campaign gets underway with Senator Kamala Harris on the Democratic ticket, we will stand united to fight the racist and sexist attacks we know will come. We will be rooting for the success of her AND Joe Biden in November.
We will proudly #VoteForHer. And we will have her back.
